One of the world's top Christian missiologist has recently died. Dr. Ralph D. Winter (1924–2009) past away while at his house on May 20, 2009 after a long battle with myeloma and lymphoma. While I never personally met Dr. Winter his work in missiology greatly influenced me on my journey towards Christ. I had the pleasure [...] My beautiful bride recently picked up a Spanish / English Good News parallel Bible. At first I was a bit skeptical – with a name like the “Good News Bible”.. I mean, come on – is that a marketing gimmick or what? But then I started reading it (the English side… sigh… unfortunately [...] A new couple came to our couples Bible Study last night at the personal invitation of one of the members. While this may sound like a seemingly non-earth shattering event, in reality it was HUGE! Why? Because it means that the folks in the study are capturing the vision, heart and importance of meeting [...] I opened my Bible the other day to Psalms 22 – not really sure why, but it seemed like a good place to start. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (NIV) Ah – the cry of the Lord on the cross (Matthew 27:46, Mark 15:34). Yet, it was verse 6 [...] Appalled. Disturbed. Vomiting uncontrollable. That is my reaction to the new Thomas Nelson's new The American Patriot's Bible. It is total CRAP!!! Why? Because the editors filled the Bible with multiple commentary and articles related to the United States of America. Now – I love this country and am glad to be [...] There were four of us boys at the creek that day ranging from 10 to 14 years old. We each took turns climbing the tree next to the bluff overlooking the creek before swinging out and dropping into the waters below.
